ESBE’S SUSTAINABILITY PHILOSOPHY

2024-01-23

What propels a market leader like ESBE forward? It’s something deeply rooted that traces its origins to the beginning of the last century.

Johan August Skogsfors founded ESBE in 1906. One person who inspired him was the man commonly known as ‘the Swedish agriculture apostle’, Per Jönsson Rösiö (born 1861). In one of the apostle’s speeches, John August was captivated by the expression: “in a modern factory, it’s not work that is shared, but people.” Three years later, Johan August had built one of the most modern factory facilities in the south of Sweden, and ever since, we have upheld his humanistic legacy.

ESBE’s core values guide sustainability efforts

Energy Saving, Comfort, Safety, Long-term strategy, Leadership, and Compassion are the values that define us. Nature’s forces have always played a prominent role for us. In the early 1900s, electricity came from a nearby hydroelectric power plant, and now, over 118 years later, production is powered solely by renewable electricity. We are co-owners of a wind power plant, have 700 square meters of solar panels on the roof, and only purchase so-called green electricity. The goal is for our Swedish operations to be completely climate neutral. As part of this effort, we have decided that all of ESBE’s Swedish company cars should be fossil-free and pure electric cars by 2026. But sustainability is not just about energy. Sustainability work consists of a multitude of ingredients that all ultimately contribute to a better world for people, nature, and the environment.

Compassion is one of ESBE’s most important core values

For our employees, ESBE is much more than valves and actuators. We are, for example, Reftele’s largest employer, and for us, it’s important to take social responsibility and create involvement and a developmental environment. This work occurs as often outside ESBE’s walls as inside. We support local sports teams, collaborate with nearby schools and universities, and contribute to making Reftele an attractive place to live in.

ESBE cares deeply about energy issues

You have probably heard us say it before: There is an energy transition underway in Europe, and we are proud to be one of the companies helping households make energy savings.
All our products are developed to be safe and provide energy savings, thus contributing to reduced environmental footprints in the long run.

ESBE faces the future with curiosity

We at ESBE are one of Europe’s market leaders when it comes to products and solutions for hydronic heating and cooling systems and tap water. We have achieved this position because we have always been willing to find new, better solutions and because we have placed human needs at the forefront. In fact, almost ten percent of our employees work at the ESBE Technology Center, one of Europe’s most modern facilities of its kind. It’s here that tomorrow’s ideas are transformed into products that help millions of property owners in Europe achieve a comfortable indoor climate as energy-efficiently as possible.
