ESBE AB recruits new CEO internally

2013-03-27

After 13 years Johan Skogsfors retired from his post as CEO at ESBE AB.  He deserves credit not only for an impressive growth performance, but also for developing ESBE into an international operating group with state-of-the art production facilities and a recognized brand.
From January 1st 2013 Karsten Pillukeit is the new CEO of the ESBE Group. Since joining ESBE in 2008 he held the roles of General Manager for Germany and Regional Director for Central – and Eastern Europe before he took up the responsibility as Global Marketing & Sales Director.

The Skogsfors family continues to take a long term interest in the company through representation by Johan and his brothers in the board and as majority shareholder owner with a combined 80% share.

For ESBE, however, this well-planned move can be considered as a real milestone, since this is the first time more than 100 years of ESBE history, after 4 generations, where the Skogsfors family held the CEO position, that a non-family member and a manager with a strong background in sales and marketing will lead the group.  In this sense this internal recruitment attempts to combine the best of both worlds by assuring continuity through promotion of a manger with a proven track record in the company and setting new impulses through an even stronger market- and customer focus based on a new group strategy.

Karsten holds Bachelor and Master degrees in business administration from the University of Paderborn/Germany  and the University of  Kansas/USA. His experiences in the Heating- and Sanitary Industry go back until 1990. He has been developing his career touching ground in most of the European key markets holding miscellaneous executive positions. Prior to joining ESBE in 2008  he worked for more than 15 years for Grundfos and acted as a consultant on strategy innovation, sales and talent development for multinational firms.
